Music

Music is a vital part of worship at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. In everything we do, we strive for excellence in our music ministries. We believe that God speaks to us in many different ways, with music being one of the ways God meets us where we are and speaks to us in the deepest places of our hearts.

Early Bird Choir

The Early Bird Choir delights us with music for our 8 a.m. service. We sing a variety of music, but primarily well-known hymns. Come join us for an enthusiastic and awakening experience! All ages and levels of experience are eagerly invited! Rehearsals are at 7:15 am before services. Contact choir director Shirley Maddox for details.

Praise Band

Grace Multiplied is the praise band at our 9:30 am worship service, led by Crystal Stark. They are an enthusiastic group of vocalists and instrumentalists, and they love spreading God’s message through music! They’d also love to hear from you! Say hello, let them know how they’re doing, or suggest a song you want to hear!

Sanctuary Singers

The Sanctuary Singers are our professional singers from the University of Arizona who offer everything from Latin arias to traditional spirituals. The Sanctuary Singers regularly sing at the 11 am service. They allow us to see the fullness of God’s beauty through music. They regularly work with the other musical groups at the church, and view it as their mission to uplift and inspire the congregation during worship, whenever possible.

Harp Choir

St. Paul’s is proud to be home to the “I Am Wonderful” Harp Choir, under the direction of Dr. Michelle Gott. “I Am Wonderful” is the only church based youth harp ensemble in the world. It is open to youth ages 6 and above. It is not necessary for a participant to own a harp to join this group. While several harp choir members have graduated to a pedal harp, St. Paul’s provides Celtic harps to each participant. Learning to play the harp is only one of the goals of this choir. Perhaps the primary goal of this group is that each participant understand that he/she is an amazing child of God, created to share his/her gifts for the good of the world.

Youth Praise Band

The Youth Praise Band, led by Neal Warner, is for ages 10 through 18 who like to sing or play an instrument. Practices are held every Sunday from 2 to 3 pm in the Loft.
